Working with the maintenance team on site at Gruyere, your work will mainly focus on the bore fields and associated infrastructure. 

The role is a permanent position based on a 8/6 FIFO ex Perth roster. 

 
Job Description

Gruyere is one of Western Australia’s most exciting new gold mines. Gold Road Resources and Gold Fields are proud to have an established 50/50 JV partnership over Gruyere.

 

Role Details

Reporting to Supervisor: Mechanical, you will provide quality and timely preventative maintenance and repairs of the site supporting services facilities (borefields and associated infrastructure) and other areas of the operation as required to ensure operational targets are met in a safe, environmentally compliant and efficient manner. 

 

This role is offered on a permanent basis on a 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of Gold Fields and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times;
  • Apply effective preventative maintenance practices through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repair of plant equipment;
  • Maintain close liaison and co-operation with Site Supervisors to ensure optimum equipment performance and availability;
  • Report all safety hazards, environmental hazards, incidents, damage, breakdowns and potential plant or equipment stoppages to a direct Supervisor or area Supervisor as soon as is practicable including those not directly related to your specific areas of responsibility;
  • Support the efficient performance of site support service facilities by providing reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge, expertise and practical application, to minimise down time and subsequent loss of production;
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the maintenance workshops and wherever maintenance work is carried out, to contribute towards a safe work environment, efficient operation of the facilities and to reduce the risk of incidents or injury and the existence of potential hazards;
  • Consistently demonstrate and reflect behaviours, actions and attitudes in line with the Gold Field’s Vision, Values and Code of Ethics. Actively promote Gold Field’s policies, procedures and systems relating to your area of responsibility.

Key factors to your success include:

  • Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Manual HR Drivers Licence
  • Basic Computer skills in Microsoft Office Programs
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance of a mineral processing plant, borefield maintenance, and/or water treatment plants
  • Solid Interpersonal, Verbal and Written Communication skills

The following tickets/licenses would be advantageous but not essential:

Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, Dogging, Rigging, Crane (CN), Confined Space, Working at Heights and experience with AMT
