About the position

The Indigenous Outreach and Support Cultural Support Officer is a newly created position that will be responsible for promoting Bond as a viable tertiary education option to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people.  The position also provides support to enrolled Bond University Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students with the unique challenges they may face during their tertiary education.

This position is based in the Nyombil Indigenous Support Centre with the expectation of visiting schools and organizations with Indigenous cohorts plus facilitating on campus experiences.

About the person:

The successful candidate will have connections to the local Indigenous community and relevant experience. You will be required to provide cultural and pastoral support for current Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled at Bond University, develop partnerships with external Indigenous programs and schools with Indigenous cohorts, design and implement an engagement strategy for Indigenous Year 10-12 high school students, family, community and local schools

To perform this role it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.

The hourly rate range for this appointment is $42.39 - $46.32 p/h plus 9.5% superannuation,  negotiable on skills and experience.
