The successful candidate will have:
· Demonstrated experience providing Indigenous mentoring and support services to Aboriginal Youth and unemployed
· Tertiary Qualifications in Mentoring, Human Resources, Training and Assessment or related field
· Strong understanding of and proven ability to engage with and work within the local Aboriginal Community
· Experience working with broader community including Employers and other organisations developing their cultural awareness
· Proven understanding of the barriers affecting Indigenous people establishing meaningful rewarding long term careers
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and sustain working relationships with a diverse range of people
· Experience facilitating cultural programs and hosting Yarning sessions
· Demonstrated experience building effective relationships with agencies, training providers and other relevant stakeholders
· Excellent administration and organisation skills strong computer skills, time management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
This is a full time fixed term position until 30th June 2020 under the Australian Commonwealth Government Jobs, Land and Economy program (JLEP).
Note this is an Aboriginal Identified Position - authorised under the S14d of the NSW Anti Discrimination Act 1977
It is a mandatory requirement for this position to have a current NSW Driver's license, Working with Children Check and National Criminal Police Check.
